1. General information
This subject provides information on the assessment of SFL learning, including the main SFL accreditation exams as well as the specific techniques of diagnostic assessment for the distribution of SFL students into teaching groups according to CEFR levels.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/): 4, 5, 10, 16 and 17.
2. Learning results
Upon completion of the subject, the student will be able to:
-develop a critical knowledge of the pertinent bibliography and of the concepts of the field of study related to assessment in the teaching and learning of SFL.
-know and critically assess the main SFL accreditation exams.
-select, design, and apply the specific techniques of diagnostic assessment for the distribution of SFL students into teaching groups as well as for the learning according to CEFR levels.
-select, design and apply the techniques of summative assessment leading to the accreditation of proficiency in SFL at the different levels established by the CEFR.
3. Syllabus
1.-Key and introductory concepts: subject´s program, assessment and their types and functions.
2. -Main examinations for the accreditation of linguistic proficiency in Spanish.
3.- Diagnostic assessment. Classification or level tests: distribution of students by level (CEFR). Learning objectives and analysis of needs.
4. Assessment of comprehension and production skills: criteria and procedures for summative assessment. Analytical and holistic scales at reference levels. Examination models: design and application.
4. Academic activities
-Guided activities.
-Participative master classes (theoretical-practical) in the classroom.
-Presentation, discussion and doubt solving on theoretical and practical aspects of the program´s contents.
-Supervised activities. -Individual and group tutoring.
-Advice and help regarding any aspect of the subject.
-Autonomous activities.
-Bibliographic work, readings and tests corresponding to the units of the program, as well as the use of the virtual learning environment.
5. Assessment system
First call
a) Continuous assessment system
Summative portfolio of theoretical notes and practical activities created throughout the semester. (100% weighting). The accuracy in the presentation of the theoretical contents and the correctness of the practical activities of the portfolio, as well as the quality of the written expression will be evaluated.
b) Global assessment system (on the date established in the academic calendar):
Academic work in accordance with the contents of the subject (100% weighting). The bibliography consulted, the scientific accuracy, the personal reflection on the topic addressed, the originality of the presentation and of the selection of contents will be assessed.
